Description 
TV Asahi (テレビ朝日), better known as Tele Asa (テレ朝), is a Japanese television station serving the Kanto region as the flagship station of the All-Nippon News Network. It is owned-and-operated by the TV Asahi Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TV Asahi Holdings Corporation, itself controlled by The Asahi Shimbun Company. It was founded in 1959 as Nippon Educational Television (NET) by Nippon Educational Television Co., Ltd. In December 1960, NET changed its common name from Nippon Educational Television to NET TV (NETテレビ). On April 1, 1977, the corporate name of NET TV was renamed to Asahi National Broadcasting Co., Ltd., with the name of its channel changed to TV Asahi.
