It was originally founded as Podotree (포도트리는) in 2010 as a content business company that operates Daum Webtoon and Kakao Page. On January 25, 2021, it was announced that Kakao M would be merging into Kakao Page to form Kakao Entertainment. The merger was finalized on March 2, 2021.
